Four legged love

  How I know them?

Initially, I was not interested in cats or any other animals. I had never seen them differently but then for the very first time my sister adopted a homeless kitten that changed my entire view of these furry creatures. Even though I was a bit scared at first but with time I got used to him. A small cotton ball jumping all around with those tiny paws with all his excitement and somehow he held my attention. As I grew to love him more and more, a strange love and affection grew inside me. My whole perspective about animals was changed and I could feel the need for love and affection among all those street animals who are unable to garner such affection. Later I found another cat who was lost and decided to adopt him too. Now living with two cats I can say I know them pretty well. Through them I was introduced to the cruel world these cats live in.





What’s their present situation?


Cats are beautiful animals but In our society, there are people of various categories, differentiated by their financial status. In such an environment often street cats or dogs die of hunger or from being beaten by merciless individuals. Even if someone can't help they shouldn’t at least hurt a living being. Still they are suffering from such violent behavior. Again I’ve seen and know a lot of people who are attracted to foreign cats for their appearance and give them all the luxury they could. However they are not even looking at these suffering helpless and hungry street cats that are starving in the street and the same people talk about loving an animal.







How can we help them?

Due to violent human behavior street cats are afraid of humans. They hide from us whereas even if a bit of compassion is shown towards them I believe we can gain their trust back. I always try my best to help street animals in the range I myself can cover. I believe that, “good begets good’’ that watching one influences another to do good. If enough people come forward we can easily change their situation.

If we look at it, there are many organizations working for their betterment in our country. These organizations are being made by such people who adore these animals and have the capability to help them. Such organizations like RobinHood The Animal Rescuer, Obhoyaronno etc. are always coming forward to rescue animals living in the urban areas. Besides they provide vaccines for cats and dogs absolutely free, which helps them fend off life threatening viruses like rabies, FPv etc. Besides this there are various youtube channels like Jackson Galaxy, Paw Life helped me get familiar with my cats, and I believe these channels can also help many to tackle various problems that we may face while they are handling these furry creatures. If more people come forward we can easily help them, feed them, protect them from violence also provide a safe home for them. If enough awareness can be raised I believe many will be able to engage in this unknown pleasure and satisfaction that one can get through being with these animals.
