Still living with your mom? BORING!! Join Bachelor's Life!!!

Do you ever feel like what would happen if you live with a bunch of friends?Do your strict parents don’t give you personal space now you want to move for your space? Or are you thinking about moving to another city to start a new life or a new career all by yourself? Or your friend leads a bachelor life away from his family and you're thinking,” how does it feel to stay with a bunch of people away from their family? Is it fun ?”.

If you're having these thoughts, you’re not the only one. I also had these questions in my mind, but after staying for a while in Dhaka with my roommates, I think I’ve got some answers. So you want to buckle up for a ride? Or you're hitting that cancel rider button?

Let's start then, we asked ourselves in the beginning. Is it fun?

And the answer is obviously no!!! Just kidding!! The answer is a yes and a no.

Stop staring like that!! lol! Ok let me explain. Do you want to hear the bad one?

first or the good one? Oh! You want to hear the bad one first. Mmm, ok!! Even

if you had chosen the good one first, I would have started with the bad one anyway,

aha hahaha!!!

Why is it not fun? No rules, no restrictions,a bunch of friends.

You can sleep whenever you want or play games whenever you want or even do

whatever you want. You’re getting all the freedom you like and still saying it’s not fun.

What are you? Are you even for real? That’s what I said to my cousin, who used to lead

a bachelor's life in Dhaka. He’s married now. Lucky him! Anyway, he told me “you'll

know one day why I said it’s not that fun”. This was five or six years ago. Trust me,

covid ate half of the time and the other half I was on social media and now after six years

here we are. I hate to say it, but my cousin was right partially.

Let’s imagine a scenario: you woke up in the morning, did your bed, then went to the kitchen to make yourself breakfast, then you prepared yourself and went to work. After a long day, you came back and cleaned your room. You had some work to do, or you got housework. Also, you're hungry and the entire room is a mess. Also you need the laundry.Would you like that to happen? No, right?

The reason I’m telling you this is that this is what a bachelor's life looks like. The presence of family figures makes the whole thing so much easier. Did you say family?

Lol back to seriousness. You don't have to do a lot of work while living with your family. Imagine, after a bad day at work, you came home. Your mum is there, and she made your favorite food. Your dad asking I’m going outside, do you need anything, son? Wouldn’t that melt your heart?

Bachelor's life is hard as you have to do your own chores, make important decisions like do you want to eat pizza or you want to buy a jersey with that money, all by yourself (hahaha haha. Leave the sarcasm behind back to seriousness. lol), look after yourself. Moral of the story: your mom should look for a girl/boy and prepare a marriage ceremony. Just kidding! Just kidding! But you got the point, right ?

What! You think it’s not that bad? Really? Ok let me help you imagine a bit more. You want to live in a certain area but the owners who give rent don’t want to keep bachelors. You want to stay in a particular area but it's pretty costly for you and your roommates even if you can afford to find a house whose owners allow bachelors but with a lot of restrictions such as no access to roof, gate closing after 10.30/11.30, no outsiders allowed, no outside friends. Bit too much, right? Even if you manage all the stuff now, it's time to study, but your roommates have decided to play Valorant (game). Now you want to play and study at the same time. Best of both worlds?

Or you get scary messages like this from your roommates!!!

We get this kind of text every time, trust me. Your ex might stop following you

but these texts won't. lol!!!

Ok now go hydrate yourself. Take a walk then come back. I know you’re tired.

Come back soon ok?? I know you’ll be back in 5 minutes, right?

Oh! Look who’s back!! I thought you’d never come back again. Glad you did.

Let’s start fresh again? Put on some earphones. Let’s skip to the good part.

Leading a bachelor's life has some perks as well. You have your friends living with you. Imagine the comfort you’ll feel after you and your roommates failing in the same subject. Or even skipping a meal going outside in some places like dominos, Chillox, or even tong, or even ranting about your bad day together? Possibilities are endless, you know hahaha!!! Watching the world cup with friends, getting stuck in a hell hole together, celebrating birthdays, losses together brings you closer to making a bond, a family like bond. That sounds sweet, right?

If you have some goofy wholesome roommates like I do, you might get to sing together,
dance together, fight together though I don’t recommend that haha, even you can share
feelings with your roommates, or chill in tongs, sipping tea telling your friend not to smoke
anymore then eventually picking up the habit not recommended as well, sharing food with
each other, doing pranks on one another and so on .We once locked one of our roommates
in the balcony, then after 5 mins he came out angry then we surprised him with a cake on
his birthday. Living a bachelor life is fun, not going to lie. It’s like a movie to be honest with
thriller, action, emotion, washing dishes/ clothes. Just kidding lol.

There are a lot of things one can learn while living as a bachelor. It helps you take decisions under pressure, teaches you to be more responsible, helps you gain more knowledge about the outside as I didn’t know that you don't buy ginger of 1 kg it might get rotten soon, or the price of oil now 190 per liter it might help you, you never know haha‌!!

Some come to live bachelors from very conservative families with many restrictions.

They can enjoy the freedom, their own space. Some girls coming from conservative

families ,come to new cities, make their name by working outside, creating opportunities

for others as well.

Oh! It seems like we reached the destination. Take out the earphones now. So the fare

is 300 Taka . I take cash, Bkash, Nagad, Upai, Rocket everything lol. But you know what!

you’ve been a lovely audience. The fare is on me. Now you know the answer, “A yes and

a no”.If you want to know more regarding this topic, feel free to visit
